Naïo Technologies Unveils New Advances in Agricultural Robotics at World FIRA 2025

Naïo to showcase upgrades to popular Oz robot and new implement for autonomous vineyard robot at World FIRA 2025

“Ten years ago, purchasing an Oz robot was a bold move. But today, Oz and other robots in our lineup are indispensable for growers striving to meet increasing demands with limited resources,” said Aymeric Barthès, co-founder of Naïo Technologies.

Oz and its teammates Orio, Ted and Jo will demonstrate their efficiency-boosting abilities at World FIRA, 4-6 February in Toulouse, France. New for 2025: a 10th-anniversary edition of Oz.

Oz Farming Robot More Precise and Energy-Efficient

Oz celebrates its 10th anniversary @Naïo Technologies

Oz has become a trusted partner for farmers in more than 48 countries and numerous universities. The 10th-anniversary edition features:

  • A more powerful motor that’s also 50% more energy efficient.
  • 35 tools for a variety of agricultural tasks
  • More precise GPS guidance with accuracy down to the centimeter

Ted: Expanded Vineyard Capabilities

Naïo Technologies’ Ted is the only truly autonomous vineyard straddle robot currently in production. Like other Naïo robots, Ted does not require on-site supervision. It can be remotely monitored via smartphone using the Naïo Companion app.

Developed in partnership with the French Institute of Vine and Wine, Ted can perform a variety of tasks including soil work (using ridge removers, inter-row blades, discs, and cultivators) pruning and mechanical weeding. Ted’s new Naotec vine shoot remover implement is designed to delicately but thoroughly clean vines down to the base of the graft.

Ted can also collect data on vine health. Using integrated sensors developed by Chouette, the robot can detect diseases and provide other valuable insights from the field.

CE-Certified Autonomous Robots

Every robot in Naïo Technologies’ fleet can operate without direct human supervision. The Naïo Companion app provides real-time remote monitoring via smartphone or tablet. The app’s user-friendly graphic interface makes mission setup and task management easy.

Naïo's CE and FCC-certified Augmented Autonomy system includes robust safety features such as geofencing and obstacle detection systems. Naïo stands behind its products and assumes liability in the event of an incident, provided the robot was being used appropriately.

Augmented Autonomy helps farmers overcome labor shortages and spend more time on high-value tasks. The all-electric robots also support sustainability.

“Our robots are designed to protect soil and optimise yield,” Barthès said. “In addition to being more efficient, robots are also more appealing to younger generations who are drawn to advanced technology.”

World FIRA 2025

World FIRA attendees can view Naïo's robots at work during live demonstrations in the outdoor zones. The demonstrations will showcase the capabilities of farming robots Oz, Orio and their vineyard companions Ted and Jo in real-world conditions. Attendees are encouraged to ask questions and learn more about the potential of agricultural robotics to make farming operations more efficient and sustainable.
