AGROINTELLI’s ROBOTTI holds a unique position in the agricultural robot industry. It is both cutting-edge and well-established. ROBOTTI recently celebrated ten years on the market, an exceptionally long time in an industry full of startups.

When asked why ROBOTTI has endured, Ole Green AGROINTELLI’s CEO and Founder, said, “It’s robust and reliable. We’re not trying to reinvent ourselves. We believe we have the most fantastic robot in the world.”

AGROINTELLI Regional Sales Manager Alberto Alessandrini cited an enthusiastic network of farmers who believe in the product and recommend it to others. Green also noted the importance of ROBOTTI’s extensive user base.

“With more than 50 robots working in fields across 16 countries, we have a wealth of shared knowledge,” Green said. “If you’re interested in using ROBOTTI to farm parsnips, we have parsnip farmers in the UK. If you grow sugar beets, there’s a ROBOTTI working on a sugar beet farm in Poland.”

Kubota Partnership

AGROINTELLI recently formalized a partnership with Kubota Europe. Farmers now have access to ROBOTTI sales and service through the extensive Kubota European dealer network. The only difference between the ROBOTTI sold by Kubota versus other dealers is the color — Kubota orange.

Some people are surprised to learn ROBOTTI uses a 72-horsepower diesel Kubota engine. Green says ROBOTTI will pivot to electric or other alternative sustainable energy system when the demand and infrastructure are in place.

Though the engine under the hood is squarely 20th century, ROBOTTI uses advanced technology to optimize its activities and ensure safe operation.

“Customers tell us it’s easier to use than the standard auto steering on a tractor,” Green said. “You can create an optimized plan for any field shape. It can navigate around obstacles such as irrigation pipes or swampy areas. Once you create a plan, ROBOTTI can do the entire route, or just partially weed a field. All you have to do is press start and ROBOTTI will text you when it’s done.”

Farmers can also use the robot to survey their fields virtually. ROBOTTI can capture images as it operates and save them to the cloud.

“I grew up on a farm and I’ve been a farmer all my life,” Green said. “Growing food is a marginal business, but automation can make that small margin bigger. The more you automate, the more you can use scarce labor resources for tasks that cannot be automated. We didn’t build a robot because we think robots are cool. It’s because I’d rather spend time analysing the soil and the economics of my operation. Not sit on a tractor.”

Safety Features

Safety is a top priority for AGROINTELLI. ROBOTTI is CE-certified and complies with EU Machinery Directives and relevant ISO standards. Safety features include: laser scanner/radar, a pressure-sensitive bumper, multiple RGB cameras, dual RTK GPS-based guidance and virtual fencing and remote control E-stop.

Also, unlike human operators, ROBOTTI won’t hurry to finish up the job. It maintains a constant speed with no stress and informs the operator if it encounters an unexpected obstacle.
