Apple Picking Attachment Can Harvest the Semi-Spherical Fruits

The Apple Picker attachment for Slopehelper can now pick a variety of semi-spherical fruits. The hinged attachment enables the robot to do the work of six human pickers, harvesting a piece of fruit every 4.5 seconds.

“We recognized the need for harvesting systems capable of operating across unlimited field sizes with minimal manpower,” said PeK Automotive CEO Dr. Mikhail Kostkin. “At present, there are no comparable fruit-picking solutions on the market that match the capabilities of our system.”

Fruit Harvesting Robot Part of Fully Autonomous System

In 2025, PeK Automotive plans to launch a fully autonomous system capable of performing all harvesting operations, including picking, loading/unloading and delivering fruit baskets directly to the warehouse gates.

The complete system will require only two operators:

One operator in the field to oversee the fleet of harvesting robots, autonomous forklifts and transportation platforms.

Another operator to oversee the handoff from the transportation platforms to the warehouse itself.

Grape Picking Robot to Debut at World FIRA 2025

In addition to sharing plans for a completely autonomous harvesting system (mentioned above), PeK Automotive will debut its Grape Picker prototype.

The Grape Picker is a hinged attachment for the Slopehelper agrosystem and features the world’s first non-shaking technology. Unlike traditional industrial grape pickers that shake vines, cause oxidation and make bunch sorting impossible, the Grape Picker preserves the integrity of grape bunches by cutting stems.

“This innovation is excellent for companies specializing in sparkling and high-quality wine production, where oxidation is unacceptable. The Grape Picker ensures quality and efficiency in the grape harvesting process,” said Kostkin. “It is a viable alternative to hiring seasonal harvesting workers.”

World FIRA attendees can see the Apple Picker, Grape Picker and Drum Mulcher in action 4-6 Feb 2025 in Toulouse, France. PeK Automotive representatives will also be available in the Expo zone.
